As Energy Advantage's founding President and now Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Rob has used his passion and complete dedication to assemble a first class team of experts in a broad range of energy, environmental and business disciplines to offer a uniquely independent total energy management service to major clients across North America.

In 1987 - prior to forming Energy Advantage - Rob founded the largest independent natural gas management company in Canada, which he led until 1995. Earlier, as a Division Chief with the National Energy Board of Canada, he developed pivotal NEB positions leading to major policy changes including deregulation of the domestic natural gas market.

Rob holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (honours) and a Masters in Economics from the University of Calgary. He has authored many energy industry articles and publications, spoken at numerous energy industry conferences, and testified frequently as an expert witness before provincial and federal energy regulatory tribunals.

 

William Houston, Vice President and General Counsel

Bill Houston joined Energy Advantage in February 2004, bringing with him considerable legal experience to the company as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary.

Formerly a partner at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in Ottawa and Toronto, he specialized in the practice of Energy and Public Utilities Law. In his 30-year legal career, he has acted as special counsel to the Barber Commission on the proposed privatization of Saskatchewan Energy Corporation and represented American gas utilities with respect to NEB export and toll proceedings. Bill has also represented numerous large natural gas and electricity users and Ontario municipalities with respect to the interests of their newly established municipal electric utility companies.

With many published works on the legal aspects of the energy industry to his credit, he has chaired conferences on the deregulated natural gas market and spoken at energy conferences in Canada and the United States.

Bill holds degrees in Economics from Queen’s and Cornell Universities, and is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School.

Bob is a seasoned well rounded financial executive with operating and Board experience in both the US and Canada. At Energy Advantage he is responsible for all finance, accounting, human resource, governance, and the strategic and operational planning process.

Prior to joining Energy Advantage, he was the Chief Financial Officer of Selient Inc. for almost five years. Selient was publicly traded on the TSXV until its recent sale to Aegon NV. Before Selient, Bob was a founding partner of Corporate Partners international Inc. which provides interim management and access to capital to companies in transition. During this time he helped start and then run an alternative energy company and an environmental products company. As well, from 1985 to 1993 he managed the venture capital arms for two profit motivated Ontario Crown Corporations (one a turn around and the other a start-up). Both were focused on investments whose drivers were intellectual property and customer service.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Industrial Engineering) and a MBA (both from the University of Toronto), and has a CMA designation.

Glen has over 28 years of experience in the North American energy industry and has been with Energy Advantage from the ground up. Through the years Glen has played a part in every aspect of the company. His current executive responsibilities include, but are not limited to, leading the commercialization of TEEM.

Before Energy Advantage, his career included executive responsibility for energy marketing as Senior Vice President, Sunalta, Energy Marketing Inc., and as Vice President, Eastern Region, Northridge Gas Marketing Inc. Earlier, while working with the Alberta Petroleum Marketing Commission, he participated in intergovernmental negotiations leading to the deregulation of the Canadian natural gas market and was responsible for approving short-term gas exports from the province.

Glen holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Trent University and a Masters in Economics from McMaster University.

Jeremy began his career at Energy Advantage seven years ago, in the Commodities and Financial Reporting department. He quickly escalated his operational knowledge, and moved into the Business Services department where he applied his communication and relationship management skills to ensure the delivery of optimal service solutions to clients. After seven years in the industry, Jeremy is now responsible for the development and execution of Energy Advantage’s global revenue growth strategies.

Jeremy’s role encompasses a variety of responsibilities including, management of the marketing, business services and sales departments. Prior to working for Energy Advantage, Jeremy worked in a marketing capacity at a national financial institution. He moved to Energy Advantage to contribute to an entrepreneurial firm in a growth industry.

Jeremy has a Bachelor of Arts in Politics and Economics from Queen’s University, a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Simon Fraser University, and Master of Science in Finance and Financial Law from the University of London.
