Dr. Phil Whiting

Phil Whiting has a PhD in Science from McGill University and has a strong background in technology commercialization and executive management. Most recently, Phil was President and CEO of a renewable energy company. Prior experience includes being President of an international robotics and automation company, President of a fuel cell and rechargeable battery company, and VP roles in R&D and Engineering with a global water treatment company and a multi-national forest products company. Phil has also served on the Board of Directors for a number of private and public companies and has held academic appointments at the University of Toronto and the University of Western Ontario.

Robert H. Lane

Robert is the managing partner of Robert H. Lane and Associates Inc., a business advisor organization headquartered in Toronto, Canada. Prior to starting his consulting business he served in senior management roles with a number of companies including GE Canada, Nortel and Commodore Business Machines. Bob serves as a Board Member or Advisor to various companies in the U.S. and Canada including GridPlex, Mine Radio Systems Inc, Claims Corp. Inc., Complete Concepts Inc., Entripy Clothing and Fontur International. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Toronto (Trinity College), and a Master of Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business–University of Western Ontario (Gold Medalist).

Chris is currently Chairman of DTZ National Group and brings a wealth of operational leadership experience and executive level relationships to Energy Advantage's advisory board. He has over 35 years of successful executive leadership working within the North American Corporate Real Estate industry.

Norman Wright

Norman has been associated with Energy Advantage since 2002. Prior to this, Norman was President and Chief Executive Officer of an energy management software company of which he was the principal shareholder. In the mid 1990s Norman held the position of President and CEO at Virtek Vision International Inc., a world leader in precision laser robotic technology. He successfully led that company to an initial public offering, and it subsequently became one of the fastest growing companies in Canada as ranked by Profit Magazine. He is a long-standing member of the World Presidents’ Organization (WPO). Norman holds a BSc, Economics from the London School of Economics and completed the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.

Cam Kirkby

Cam Kirkby has served in a strategic business and financial advisory role with Energy Advantage since it’s inception. Cam maintains over 20 years of experience working in the Canadian Financial Services Industry. Currently he is First Vice-President and Branch Manager of CIBC Wood Gundy. He was one of the early members of “The Fellowship Of The Canadian Securities Institute”(FCSI), the most senior financial services designation available in the Canadian marketplace, as well as holding many other industry designations. Cam also currently resides on the National Advisory Board for CIBC Wood Gundy.

Bob MacBean

Bob is a highly experienced senior financial executive with operating and Board experience in both the U.S. and Canada.

Bob was the Chief Financial Officer of Selient Inc. for almost five years. Selient delivers sophisticated SaaS offerings to the financial services sector and controlled about 25% of the market in the Credit Union sector. Selient was publicly traded on the TSXV until its recent sale to Aegon NV. Before Selient, Bob was a founding partner of Corporate Partners International Inc., provider of interim management and access to capital to companies in transition. During this time he helped start and then run an alternative energy company and an environmental products company. From 1985 to 1993 he managed the venture capital arms for two profit- motivated Ontario Crown Corporations (one a turn-around and the other a start-up). Both were focused on investments whose drivers were intellectual property and customer service.

Bob holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Industrial Engineering) and a MBA both from the University of Toronto. He also has a CMA designation.
