Energy Expertise Needed? Energy Advantage Launches Strategic Alliance

Strategic Partnerships with Canada's top energy experts ensure Energy Advantage customers receive access to engineering expertise as well as the best independent and objective advice.

Burlington, ON – June 12, 2007 - Energy Advantage, Canada's leading provider of total energy and environmental services, has enhanced its capabilities via a Strategic Alliance program with some of Canada's top energy efficiency engineers.

Tangibly reducing energy and greenhouse gas emissions requires a complete approach with deep industry and technical expertise. Energy Advantage has introduced its Strategic Alliance program so that our customers have access to some of the most reputable energy efficiency engineers across Canada", says Peter Rowles, Vice President of Energy Efficiency, Energy Advantage Inc.

The Total Energy Management program currently offered by Energy Advantage will be further enhanced by the implementation of the Strategic Alliance program. Both Energy Advantage and its customers will benefit from the diverse range of skills offered by the alliance partners including expertise in lighting, boilers, refrigeration, nuclear technology, HVAC, building automation systems and more. Not only does the program enhance expertise, but it also provides greater regional coverage with partnerships strategically aligned across the country:

  • Al Germain is one of Canada's leading industrial engineers with respect to energy management and usage. He has been hired repeatedly by many of Canada's top manufacturers to audit their process and make efficiency recommendations. Mr. Germain has authored multiple feasibility studies including works for several of Canada's utilities. Since 1988 Mr. Germain has provided consulting engineering services specializing in industrial energy management and strategic planning.
  • Brian Kennedy, based in Ottawa, has worked with large corporate end users across Canada and brings over 40 years of experience in energy management to Energy Advantage's clients. As President and CEO of Tempcon Technologies Ltd. Brian Kennedy was a leading innovator in the arena of energy management and building automation systems, until engineering the sale of Tempcon to Direct Energy in 2004.
  • Gerry Cornwell, based in Ontario, is one of Canada's most recognized lighting designers. Mr. Cornwell is one of less than 1600 worldwide ‘LC' designees from the National Council on Qualifications of the Lighting Professions in the United States. With over 25 years of award-winning, independent lighting design, including professional theatre and museum displays, coupled with 6 years as Senior Lighting Consultant at Engineering Interface Limited, Mr. Cornwell has gained nation-wide recognition for his expertise in lighting. In addition, Mr. Cornwell has received the G.G. Cousins award for outstanding service to the IESNA Toronto section.
  • Lou Roussinos is principal owner and manager of TFM Consultants International, located in British Colombia, where Energy Advantage is currently expanding. He is a member of several professional associations including the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the Institute of Power Engineers of Canada, and the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Colombia. Mr. Roussinos is one of the foremost experts in boiler and pressure vessels, having served as the Chief Boiler Inspector representing British Colombia at the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors Association. Additionally he is one of only four nuclear Authorized Inspectors for the province of BC and holds ASME/NBBI Supervisor and Nuclear Inspector Certification #9893.
  • Michel Parent is co-founder TechnoSim Inc., based in Quebec, where Energy Advantage has most recently established a presence. TechnoSim Inc. specializes in energy efficiency projects and energy modeling of residential, commercial and institutional buildings, and industrial processes. M. Parent is the energy efficiency technical expert for Quebec's two main energy providers, Hydro-Quebec & Gaz Metropolitain, where he is in charge of evaluating the energy conservation potential in residential, commercial and industrial sectors for the province of Quebec, including electricity, natural gas and oil. M. Parent has also developed the EE Wizard for Supermarkets and Arenas for the Office of Energy Efficiency as well as the RETScreen Ground Source Heat Pump module. He is one of OEE's CBIP program technical experts and has acted as one of its reviewers since the beginning of the program in 1999.
