William Houston Appointed to the IESO Technical Panel

March 30, 2007

Effective April 2007, the Ontario Independent Electricity System Operator ("IESO") has announced the appointment of five new members to the Technical Panel. The appointments include William Houston, Vice President and General Counsel for Energy Advantage.

The Technical Panel proposes and reviews amendments to the Market Rules and advises the Board of Directors on specific technical issues related to the operation of the IESO-administered markets. The Panel consists of members representing various stakeholders in the marketplace.

Bill joined Energy Advantage in 2004. Formerly a partner at Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP in Ottawa, he specialized in the practice of Energy and Public Utilities Law. In his 30-year legal career, he has acted as special counsel to the Barber Commission on the proposed privatization of Saskatchewan Energy Corporation, represented American gas utilities with respect to NEB export and toll proceedings, and represented Ontario municipalities with respect to the interests of their newly established electric utility companies.
